The UUCJ Endowment Fund Board thanks Art Shad for his generous donation of $100 to the Fund. He chose to gift the Fund during his company’s annual Appeal Campaign to make a difference in their community. Art, is the son of Lynn Shad, a longtime supporter and member of the Foundation Board.

Roshi Michael Elliston, abbot of the Silent Thunder Order and the Atlanta Soto Zen Center will be visiting us on April 1st and 2nd. At the Sunday service he will talk on the relationship of the Buddhist “Eight Fold Path” and the Universal Unitarian Seven Principles. Please join us for either the Saturday meditation program (beginning 8am in the Social Hall, with a $25 registration fee) or the Sunday Service.

Our weekly Vespers service will no longer be gathering on Saturday—we will now be offering Vespers on Thursday evenings, at 7 pm, beginning April 13. We look forward to seeing you there!

This month we recognize Tom Larson for Generosity in Action. A former Board member, he has been the chair of the Finance Committee for the past two years, and he is currently heading up the Staffing Task Force. Tom is known for being very organized, and we appreciate his meticulous dedication to the UUCJ community. Thank you, Tom, for everything you do!
Abyssinia Baptist Church

ICARE will gather over 1750 people at Abyssinia Baptist Church to address community problems with our Sheriff, State Attorney, and Superintendent. This event will focus on the opening of the Homeless Day Center, increased funding for the Jacksonville Reentry Center, Civil Citations to stop youth arrests and a wealth build strategy that will open a community owned grocery store in Northwest Jacksonville. This is a free event and is open to the public. We ask that you fill out a ticket when you attend.
