UUCJ is offering a series of classes and workshops to grow our community knowledge and understanding of our faith and of ourselves. From our European roots to our mission in Northeast Florida, this series offers members an opportunity to learn, explore, and grow in mind and spirit. Together, we will learn about ourselves and others, recognize our strengths, and grow our skills and talents as we serve our beloved community. Please join us! Register soon to reserve your place!

STEPPING STONE 1 ~ UU 101: Back to our Future with Peter Racine

January 10, 17, 24, 31; 6:30—8:30, UUCJ Social Hall

We come to the Unitarian Universalist Church through many paths and faith traditions.  Yet we all come to UUCJ to “spread our wings” and explore new spiritual realms without censure.  UU 101 provides the history and context for us to understand our past as we build our future.  We will learn about our UU spiritual and ethical development; where our covenant and principles come from; and about our own beloved community in Northeast Florida. For more information and to register, contact Peter Racine at 904.465.5269 or [email protected]

STEPPING STONE 2

February 18, 9:30—2:30 pm, UUCJ Social Hall (lunch included)

How Things Work at UUCJ with the UUCJ Board

Learn about how UUCJ is organized as a polity. Just how does ‘stuff’ happen and get done at church? Our panel of UUCJ Board members will answer questions and offer insights into our UUCJ future. Members are invited to come to understand how we exist and how we can accomplish our mission in an ever-changing community of multiple interests.

Know Thyself & Others with Linda Plummer

Participants will take the Myers Briggs Type Inventory (MBTI). We will explore our natural preferences and differences regarding energy, information gathering, decision making, and lifestyle. MBTI perspective helps us recognize Types as we live with and work together. We will see how the Types impact our teamwork and decision making. Even if you have taken the MBTI before, this redo will be beneficial as we worship and serve together at UUCJ. Join us for this interactive afternoon with Linda Plummer, SHRM-SCP. Space limited. Deadline to register for Stepping Stone 2 is February 10.

STEPPING STONE 3

Articulating Your Faith with Phillip Baber

March 5th, 12th, 19th, & 26th, 12:30 in the Anthony Room

“What is UU?” AYF gives participants an opportunity to delve deeply into their own beliefs and ways to express these truths, understanding other participant’s journey, and frame this in our covenantal principled Unitarian Universalist religion. “Where did you come from and where are you going?” Join us as we delve into our beliefs and how those are expressed in our UU faith and mission.

STEPPING STONE 4
