A Winter Solstice Singing Ritual with UUCS

COVID-19 Update

I was asked to include a weekly E-Blast update on the COVID-19.  So here is my take.  This week has been a good one.  One COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer was approved last week, another from Moderna will be approved by the time you read this.  Others are being tested.  They reportedly work well with minimal side effects.  Immunizations have started for healthcare workers and over the next several months more and more groups will be treated.  And If you do become infected with COVID-19, treatments are…

Congregational Meeting Update

Approximately 55 members and friends of UUCJ attended the virtual Congregational Meeting on December 13. Our only birthday next week is Mike Aiken’s, whose special day is Monday, Dec. 21. Mike has recently been diagnosed as being Covid-19 positive so please send him extra love on his birthday. We hope you recover soon, Mike, and can enjoy your birthday celebration.

Arlington Community Services Update

Let’s close strong—We are close to donating 4500 pounds! We went over 4,000 lbs. last week, and UUCJ-ACS Teamsters delivered 54 lbs. to ACS on Tuesday.  UUCJ’s Special Collection for Arlington Community Services will be going on for the entire month.  Go on the UUCJ website and donate to this Special Collection: https://uucj.org/give Thank you for your extravagant generosity in November! Caring Candles

Florie Adiutori’s brother-in-law, Bob Brandt, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020 in New Jersey.  This has been a very difficult year for Florie and Joe with the loss of three family members and three close friends.  Our condolences go out to Florie and Joe and their family.

New Normal Team Update

The New Normal Team wants to update the congregation about plans for the upcoming year.  Although we do not plan to have in person events until May 2021 (utilizing UUA recommendations detailed at https://www.uua.org/safe/pandemics/gathering-guidance and https://www.uua.org/safe/pandemics) there are a lot of virtual activities that you should know about:  Our Sunday services are ongoing with music, varied presentations twice a month, and sermons by Rev Paul Johnson twice a month.  An exciting music program is planned for December 27.   Regular programs include Monday Daytime…
