Brian has been involved with the environmental movement for the last 60 years or so. He became an activist with the Sierra Club in the 1960s in California where he worked on environmental campaigns and helped with leading outings. He continued this activism when he moved to Jacksonville in 1977. He has held various positions with the Northeast Florida Group of the Sierra Club including chair, newsletter editor, conservation chair, outings chair, programs chair, and historian.
He helped start the Green Sanctuary Working Group at UUCJ and is currently co-chair of the Group together with his wife Lynne.
