Missing Hymnals

We seem to be missing several gray hymnals.  If you have any in your possession, please return them to the church office at your earliest convenience.  Thanks!

You took ten, and we thank you!

THANK YOU for taking 10 and completing the Triennial Members Survey. We received 149 responses representing 66% of our members and friends which gives us a pretty good sampling of what the congregation wishes to focus on. The results of the survey will be compiled, presented to the Board for analysis, and within the next few weeks made available to you.

Ninety entries to the Alhambra production of The Addams Family were submitted. Who won?  Come to Church this coming Sunday, October 1, and find out!

Healthy Eating Class to resume!

Confused about which oil to use? Coconut? Olive? Canola? Sesame? The list goes on. We will be discussing which fats are healthy and which are not. We will also sample a very healthy snack, (with good fats of course).  Join Lisa and Donna at 12:30 September 24th, in the Fletcher room.

UUCJ Work Day: Saturday 9/16 @9am

There is a good degree of clean-up required at the church after Irma hit this last weekend. Please join us Saturday, 9/16/2017 @ 9am to help with the clean-up. There is a lot of yard/tree debris so bring lots of heavy work-gloves, saws (if you have them), rakes, shovels, trucks for hauling (if you have one), rubber boots might be a good idea as well. Some inside work will be required as well. Please come and help make the church building & grounds beautiful again and ready for this Sunday’s service!  There will also be a work party after service on Sunday, to help with whatever doesn’t get finished on Saturday.

September’s Generosity in Action

Karen Kempf

Karen with her dog, Bingo.

This month’s Generosity in Action honoree is Karen Kempf: She has served on and chaired the Stewardship Campaign (now called the Mission Funding Effort). She is on the Membership Committee, and attended Fernandina’s Membership Sunday to support their recent growth. She is chair of the Leadership Development Council (she has served the LDC since its formation), and has been proactive in attending board meetings as the LDC’s spokesperson. In short, Karen has consistently shown her dedication to UUCJ growth and development. Next time you see her, be sure to thank her for her devotion to our beloved community!
