Ehren Noelle Black, daughter of UUCJ member Sallie Pickard, died July 23, 2021. She was first treated for a brain tumor in 2006 and enjoyed a longer life than anyone expected. She will be greatly missed by friends and family, especially her daughter, Parker.

Joe Adiutori was admitted to Mayo through the ER on June 16, 2021. He had surgery for a bowel obstruction and he was discharged home on June 19, 2021 in time for Father’s Day. Please send him healing energy. Leisla Sansom’s friend, Dick, is scheduled to come home from Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital on July 23, 2021. He will continue to receive therapy from Brooks at home. Leisla appreciates the help and concern of her UUCJ friends.

Lynne Walling, daughter of Stuart Walling and step-daughter of Donna Janesky, died last week at the age of 62, from colon cancer. She was a brilliant Phd Number Theorist who taught at the University of Bristol, England, and lectured all over the world. She was loved by many, as evidenced by the friends and neighbors who lovingly cared for her in her final days. Stuart is grateful he got to spend her final week with her.

Karen Smith-Scott’s mother fell outside her home on May 18th and fractured her top two neck vertebrae. Her mother is 85 and lives alone in Macon, Georgia. Karen drove to Macon last Thursday and drove her mother back to Jacksonville to be admitted to Dolphin Pointe. She is now feeling much better. Healing thoughts go out to Karen’s mother and support to Karen and her family.

Jay Huebner’s older brother, David died on May 12, 2021. David, the eldest in a family of five boys, lived in Ft. Worth, Texas, and was Jay’s last surviving sibling. Condolences go out to Jay and Jeanne and their family.

Lynne Walling, Stuart Walling’s daughter, has just been diagnosed with metastatic cancer, and is undergoing tests in England, where she teaches at the University of Bristol. Thoughts and prayers are welcome at this difficult time of limited visitation and pandemic. Betsy and Tim Deuerling celebrated their 45th anniversary on May 1, 2021! Tina and Paul Ramey also celebrated their anniversary on May 3, number 12. Congratulations to everyone!

Our Tech Support Consultant, Krystalle Voecks’ mother, Betty Bryant has gone to meet her Lord and Savior. She was a devout Christian. Our sincere condolences go out to Krystalle and her family. Mary Claire Van Der Horst says hello to everyone. See her photo in her purple outfit on the UUCJ Facebook page. Congratulations to Pamela Bulley! She passed her U.S. citizen test and on Friday, April 23, She becomes an American citizen.

We are sad to report that Greg Hines passed away at his home on March 25, 2021.  He died of heart failure and had been dealing with this condition for some time. Greg had been an active member of UUCJ for many years as a member of the Board, Denominational Affairs, CUUPS, Sunday coffee, the O’Leno Spring Retreat,  the summer regional conference, SUSSI, and  General Assembly.  A memorial service will be planned once the church has reopened. Joyce Milford had right shoulder rotator cuff surgery on March 4, 2021. She started physical therapy this week.  Best wishes for a complete recovery. Marsha Collins fell on March 13, 2021, and was treated in the ER; the CT scan was fine.  Healing wishes go out to Marsha.

Long time UUCJ member, Gene DeLoach, age 104, passed away on December 28, 2020.  After her daughter went to college, Gene started college, completed a masters degree and worked as a speech therapist.  Prior to college, she used her sewing skills to start DeLoach House of Fabrics. Gene’s sister, Esther, died 6 weeks later at 106. A celebration of their lives is planned  for March 27, 2021 at Gene’s home in Atlantic Beach. Early last week, Marsha Collins fell in…
