ICARE was instrumental in recently compelling Sheriff Williams to secure increased funding to the Jacksonville Re-Entry Center (JREC), a program with a proven track record of successfully assisting ex-offenders in returning to their communities. Although we succeeded in increasing funding to JREC to $1.5 million, JSO lost $600,000 of that annual funding. We will be asking Sheriff Williams to commit to recoup the full $1.5 million JREC budget by 2019. We will ask for this commitment on Tuesday, January 23rd,…
Jan. 14 is Justice Sunday! On that day ICARE Justice Ministry Network members from UUCJ will be commissioned. This is the group who will keep you informed of ICARE progress and promote attendance at the Annual Nehemiah Assembly on April 23. Let’s support their efforts.
Nov. 14 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 720 Arlington Rd. N, at 7 PM ICARE gets results! Be a part of justice in Jacksonville! All Justice Ministry Network members are expected to be there. Anyone interested in the efforts of ICARE is invited. All JMNs will be voting on a new problem to be addressed this year. Contact Lois Hoeft or 904-477-8320 for more information.

Abyssinia Baptist Church Mar 27 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm ICARE will gather over 1,750 people to address the opening of the Homeless Day Center, increased funding for the Jacksonville Reentry Center, Civil Citations to stop youth arrests and a wealth build strategy that will open a community owned grocery store in Northwest Jacksonville. A free event, we ask that you fill out a ticket when you attend.
